Venue of the 2005 world rafting championships the Quijos has two sections. The first includes the class 4+ Chaco canyon. This section has awesome scenery combining majestic mountainside with tight canyon views.

The Quijos River is located near Borja, about two hours from Tena (just about half-way between Tena and Quito). The higher altitude can be felt in the temperature of the river. It might not be as warm as Tena, but the river is just as much fun!

The trip begins as the Borja and Oyacachi Rivers merge. After several warm up rapids the river becomes a quick succession of technical and big water rapids. We cover about 20 km of fun on this Class IV trip.

Day 1: We leave Quito or Tena early in the morning (8am) toward Baeza .We enjoy our rafting in the Rio Quijos then we head back around 4pm

Price: from $85 (min 3 people)
