Chimborazo  is a currently inactive stratovolcano in the Cordillera Occidental range of the Andes. It is located 150km  southwest of Quito.The last known eruption is believed to have occurred around 550 AD.

With a peak elevation of 6,268 metres (20,564 ft), Chimborazo is the Highest mountain in Ecuador. It is the highest peak near the equator. Chimborazo is not the highest mountain by elevation above sea level, but its location along the equator line makes its summit the farthest point on the Earth’s surface from the Earth’s center.

Its the highest mountain in Ecuador and the most adventurous and risky climb. Its only for experienced ice climbers. It takes around 8-12 hours to summit it and the difficulty varies from crevasses to loss rock falling.The climb is a real challenge and ideal for climbers that want to overcome the 6000 m barrier .Its recommended to be well acclimatized and physically fit
Day 1: Leave Quito in the morning and arrive in Riobamba. Eat lunch head to Whymper refuge and start our glacier training session.

Day 2: Wake up at midnight and summit Chimborazo from the normal route, descend, eat in Riobamba and go back to Quito.
